Chevron 75th Anniversary Signature Event

The goal:

To celebrate Chevron Canada’s milestones, achievements and future growth opportunities.

The project:

The 75th anniversary of Chevron’s presence in Canada represented an important milestone in the company’s history. One element of the overall communications plan was to hold a large-scale signature event for employees, retirees and community partners to mark and celebrate the anniversary, to recognize the company’s achievements over the past 75 years, and generate excitement about the next stage in the company’s growth.

Momentum Communications and Edelman Public Relations envisioned and executed Chevron-fest – a live outdoor music festival. In keeping with the theme Exploring our Past. Discovering our Future. guests enjoyed a retrospective multi-media presentation, remarks by several key players in Chevron’s history and live performances by a band made up of Chevron employees, a local cover band Fun in the Front Seat, and headline performers Spirit of the West. Food trucks and commemorative gifts rounded out the celebration.

The result:

Chevron-fest was a huge success. More than 700 guests enjoyed a day of celebration, festivity and camaraderie. The event achieved objectives of building awareness of Chevron Canada’s milestones, achievements and future growth opportunities, and inspiring employees, contractors, retirees, expats and community partners. It also increased the profile of the Canadian Business Unit within the Chevron network.

Testimonial:

I wanted to extend my sincere thanks to the Edelman team for the exceptional effort the past few months that culminated in the event yesterday. I can’t tell you how many people said they were blown away by the event. Even Jeff came by my office last night and asked that I thank the entire team for their outstanding efforts. Job well done and we will celebrate after the dust settles.
